A highly unusual and compelling composite rendering of Vishnu, presented in a rare triadic form uniting three distinct aspects of the deity within a single sculptural composition. The principal face embodies the serene and composed nature of Vishnu as preserver, while the flanking aspects reveal his dynamic manifestations—Narasimha, the fierce protector, and Varaha, the cosmic savior who restores the Earth.

The Narasimha aspect, characterized by its open-mouthed intensity, conveys a moment of divine intervention, evoking the forceful protection of dharma. In contrast, the Varaha aspect introduces a grounded, primordial energy—symbolizing restoration, stability, and the reordering of the cosmos. Together, these manifestations form a unified theological expression of balance, protection, and renewal.

Stylistically, the work reflects a nuanced synthesis of South Indian sculptural traditions. The composed facial geometry and spiritual restraint of the central visage recall late Chola ideals, while the ornate crown, layered jewelry, and intricate surface articulation suggest affinities with early Hoysala craftsmanship. The interplay between clarity and ornamentation gives the piece both visual authority and devotional depth.
